Hip-Hop Digital

This past Saturday, after we rapped up Episode 4 of the Hip-Hop Digital radio show, we went to see rap legend, 1/2 of UGK (RIP Pimp C) and college lecturer Bun B shut the stage down at the Agora Ballroom. Before Bun B hit the stage, Rich Homie Quan got everyone moving with crowd favorites “Can’t Judge Her,” “Some Type of Way,” and “I Heard,” to name a few. The Agora was bursting with bass and energy alike, yet the level managed to double as Bun-B took the stage. There was, of course, a salute to the big homie Pimp C, and fans gettin’ turnt up and  spittin’ alongside Bun as he covered old and new favorites alike. As a long time fan, I was grateful to hear older, well-loved tracks, like “Wood Wheel,” “Murder,” and collaborations like Webbie’s “Give Me That,” and “Sippin’ on Some Syrup,” with 36Mafia. Not surprisingly, the older tracks he performed were as modern, hard hitting, and relevant as the songs from his latest project, Trill OG: The Epilogue. Salute to the OG Bun B, UGK 4 Life!
