Cap 1 is back with his new single “Tonite” featuring 2 Chainz, Jeremih, and Verse Simmonds. Be on the look out for his upcoming mixtape, “Trupac” with DJ E.Sudd & DJ Scream.
As the fog machines dole out thick clouds of white smoke, I imagine the worst of what could hit the stage: let’s just say, I’m doubtful, since I’ve slept on Caskey, I’m not sure what exactly I’m in for. The moment he opens his mouth, doubt is replaced by the urge to get turnt up. Caskey is commanding everyone’s’ attention, which is impossible to ignore because his energy is hypnotizing. “I ain’t shit, but I love y’all,” Caskey confesses multiple times throughout his energetic performance at Cleveland’s’ well loved Roc Bar, with fans halfway on the stage, grabbing at his open hand and shouting lyrics over brain deafening bass.
His lyrics paint a picture of ego, confidence, no apologies needed, letting us know he is snatching his spot in the game because he deserves it. This is true, yet he is humble and thankful, which is the underside of his album “Black Sheep”. Every once in a while, between growling lyrics and mosh pit dancing in the crowd with fans surrounding him, he pulls a swig from his Hennessy bottle, almost like an immediate recharge he jumps back on stage without missing a beat. It’s hard to believe that for over a month he has been traveling by day and throwing a show every night, yet here he is with his feet mid-air, only hitting the stage to catapult himself back into the air. When it’s all over, his attention is shifted as he takes selfies, makes videos, and dances one-on-one with anyone who stayed after the show; despite the fact that he has an 8 hour drive to Brooklyn, New York, where he will preform in the hometown of his idol Biggie.
